JOB SUMMARY:This position is in the General Tax Administration, Return Reconciliation. This position requires reviewing and ensuring the information filed on tax returns conforms to the instructions, rules and statutes that govern the individual taxes and issuing the correctly computed bill, credit or refund. Verifying the correct payment(s) are applied to the accounts and returns.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



+ Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue;


+ One or more years of experience in the preparation, editing and /or correcting of tax returns or financial documents;


+ At least one year of customer service, communicating both verbally and written, with external customers, fellow employees and other related professionals;


+ At least one year of experience researching and resolving accounting, financial or tax return discrepancies.

PREFERENCES:





+ Preference will be given to applicants who have experience preparing, editing and/or auditing Florida DR-15EZ and/or DR-15 sales tax returns.

NOTES:





+ Your work station will be located in an open area where there are continuous interruptions throughout the day. You will be expected to handle these interruptions and maintain your normal responsibilities.


+ This position requires you to work independently or, if necessary, switch between several different projects as priorities change in a time sensitive environment.


+ This is a full time job working 40 hours per week; work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Monday through Friday.




SKILLS VERIFICATION TEST:All applicants who meet the screening criteria/minimum job requirements will be required to take a Skills Verification Test. Applicants must receive a score of at least 70% to be considered further.
