JOB SUMMARY:This position is in the General Tax Administration, Return Reconciliation. This position requires an extensive working knowledge of the tax laws and the supporting policies and procedures administered in the Return Reconciliation sub-process of the Department of Revenue. Provides technical assistance and guidance as a subject matter expert to Revenue Specialists on difficult and complex Tax Return Reviews, analyzes and researches data and prepares analysis or solutions based on a variety of circumstances. Gathers and organizes data and information on problems or problematic procedures. Provides consultation to other business processes on the review of returns. Assist Operations Analyst II in the development of training plans and training.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



+ Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue;


+ Two or more years of experience examining and data perfecting of tax returns in Return Reconciliation Process;


+ Two or more years of experience researching and resolving taxpayers accounts and/or tax return discrepancies;


+ Two or more years of experience communicating, both verbal and written, with external customers, fellow employees, and other related professionals.



PREFERENCES:



+ Preference will be given to applicants who have experience utilizing state and federal laws to research and resolve tax questions and perfecting data on tax returns for Corporate Income Tax or Motor Fuel tax returns in Return Reconciliation.

NOTES:



+ Your work station will be in an open area where there are continuous interruptions throughout the day. You will be expected to handle these interruptions and maintain your normal responsibilities.


+ This position requires you to work independently or, if necessary, switch between several different projects as priorities change in a time sensitive environment.


+ This is a full- time job working 40 hours per week; work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Monday through Friday.
