JOB SUMMARY:This position is located in the Office of Workforce Management (Human Resources), Tallahassee, Florida, and serves on the Recruitment and Staffing team which oversees all hiring activity for the agency. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: providing assistance to the Department's managers, employees and the public in the interpretation of the State Personnel Rules and Department policies and procedures regarding staffing related issues; ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to recruitment and selection; serving as a subject-matter expert on recruitment and selection issues; evaluating veterans' preference claims to ensure validity and proper documentation; and performing in-depth selection package reviews to ensure compliance with established Department policies and procedures, applicable laws, rules, and regulations.


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



+ Currently employed within the State Personnel System;


+ Two years of professional experience in recruitment and selection with the state of Florida;


+ Experience interpreting policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and/or statutes related to recruitment and selection;


+ Experience writing reports, policies, procedures, training materials, or other types of professional communications;


+ Knowledge and experience applying the state of Florida's Veterans' Preference rules.



PREFERENCES:



+ Experience managing multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines;


+ Experience developing and delivering training;


+ Experience with the requisition process in People First;


+ Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;


+ Experience using Microsoft Access;


+ Experience using SharePoint.
